'Seminar January 2007: The Role of Urban Design in Leisure and Tourism-led Regeneration'

The Department of Tourism, DIT Cathal Brugha St , in conjunction with RICH, recently held a seminar entitled 'The Role of Urban Design in Leisure and Tourism-led Regeneration'. Speaker Steve Shaw from the Cities Institute at London Metropolitan University delivered a very interesting and informative account of the development and management of ethnic cultural quarters, focusing on the experience of several Canadian cities (Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal), in addition to Brick Lane in London. Steve Shaw is widely published on areas related to urban policy and planning, cultural quarters and culture related city regeneration.
